History
The Aggie Band began with a Czechoslovakian shoe cobbler by the name of Joseph Holick. Holick went from repairing boots to being paid to play Revellie and Taps, the Bugle calls at the beginning and end of the day. He obtained permission to form a band in 1894, and he along with 12 members began what we now know as the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band.
Prior to 1976, the Band was split into the Maroon and White Bands. The White Band became the Infantry Band with A-Company and B-Company, and the Maroon Band became the Artilery Band with A-Battery and B-Battery. In 1993, the current outfit name and logo were adopted, creating the unique personality of the outfit.
